“Every pianist has a unique voice, and it’s my mission to guide you in discovering and honing yours.”

PIANO LESSONS IN SOUTH WEST LONDON AND ISLINGTON
About

Hello, I'm Alicia

I’m a professional pianist and passionate educator with over 10 years experience teaching the piano. Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working with pianists of all ages, from budding young players, to adult pianists eager to refine their skills and take their playing to the next level.

In my solo career, I have performed in venues such as The Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre, St John’s Smith Square, and St Martin-in-the-Fields, as well as touring across the UK. I have also given several concerto performances with orchestra including Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5.

I obtained my Artist Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where I was awarded a postgraduate scholarship to study with renowned concert pianist Gabriele Baldocci. I previously studied with Nigel Clayton at The Royal College of Music whilst undertaking a music degree at Royal Holloway, University of London.

What's it like to learn with me?

I welcome all new inquiries from enthusiastic beginners committed to starting their piano journey. I also specialise in working with intermediate and advanced players (Grade 3+) helping them refine their technical skills, enhance their musical interpretation, learn new practice methods, and develop a more expressive approach to their playing.

Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn the piano, or perhaps you're working on a Chopin nocturne and want some expert guidanceI’m here to help you overcome obstacles and build (or re-build) your confidence.

For younger players, my approach is nurturing yet challenging, empowering my students to discover and express their unique voice at the piano. For adult students, I understand the balancing act of learning an instrument while managing other commitments, and I aim to create a supportive, flexible learning environment that accommodates your goals.

Some of my students take part in concerts, festivals and grade exams, some simply enjoy learning the piano for themselves. What's most important to me is instilling a life-long enjoyment for music in my students.

*Please note: I hold an enhanced DBS certificate for working with young people.

WHAT OTHERS SAY

“I came back to piano as an adult after having not played for over 15 years. Alicia, as a truly gifted pianist and teacher, absolutely reignited my love for piano and music generally. She tailors her teaching techniques to suit each individual student and has an amazing ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms."
